I am pleased to brag that my boy, Lapis, is now MACH5 Lapis Lazuli Hohol Otterby NF. On December 12th, at the Irish Setter Club of America trial at Camp Bandy in Amherst Wisconsin, he earned his 5th MACH. He even did it with a first place in Jumpers with Weaves. I truly have a blast when he runs by my side. He is such a good boy, and he gives me his very best every time we run! Lapis and Paula are pictured above with Kathy Shuh and MACH 2 Silvercreek Lit'l Miracle Boy CDX U-CD U-AG1 U-AG11 FD FDX FDCH TDI CGC (Kirby), who also received a Mach at the same trial! Congratulations to our new champion, CH Meadowlake Triple Espresso, who has been making us so proud. In August, at the Blue Grass Classic, Bean went BOW and BOS over two male specials under Judge Julie Felton for a 4 pt major and WD for a 3 pt major under Judge Frank Washabaugh! Then on to the Border Terrier National Specialty where he went Reserve Winners Dog under British judge, Mr. Arthur Cuthbertson. He followed this with Reserve Winners Dog under Judge Margaret Pough at the prestigious Montgomery County Kennel Club Show. Bean completed his championship with two additional majors at the age of fourteen months, going WD and BOS under Judge Edward Haas on 1/22/10 at the Packerland Kennel Club Show and BOW and BOS under Judge Janie Bousek on 1/23/10 at the Winnegamie Dog Club Show. Thank you, Karen Fitzpatrick, for entrusting us with the Bean.
I am also so proud of my Mona, CH Faireview's Desdemona RN, NA, NAJ, JE, CGC, TDI, V. On January 3 at the Great Lakes Belgian Turvuren Club's Agility Trial in McCook, IL, Mona completed her Novice Agility and Novice Agility Jumpers with clean runs. Then, on January 17, 2010, she completed the requirements to become a Therapy Dog, qualifying for her first Versatility title. Congratulations, Momo.

On January 23, 2010, Meadowlake Oban O'Brandywine JE finished her championship in Oshkosh. Obie has been a trooper, and she and I have been to lots of shows, mainly in Wisconsin and Illinois. We never gave
up and along the way we have met and become friends with a lot of
people and dogs. Obie is a social butterfly and she always got along with her competition except her half sister Abbey. Sibling rivalry I guess.
Obie finished with her breeder, Karen Fitzpatrick handling her. Thank
you Karen! A special thanks goes to Lisa Venske, who always helped in grooming to make Obie look her very best. In the words of Margaret Henning, speaking about Obie's finishing, "It's an end of an era."

Every dog has his day, and ten-month-old CH Faireview's Roar of the Crowd had four of them in a row, finishing his championship at IKC Chicago on Sunday, February 28. He entered the Chicago cluster with a total of six points, including one major, but kicked it into high gear for his hometown crowd. He picked up his second major as Winners Dog on Thursday, earned a five point major on Friday going BOW and BOS over two specials, was awarded Best Puppy from the regular classes on Saturday, and picked up a fourth major (4 point) on Sunday as Winners Dog. His four majors came at the hands of three handlers: Margaret Henning, Susie Kipp and Scott Kipp. He is the first of Riley's third litter (CH Maustrappe's Sunday Driver JE, ROM x CH Skyline The Life of Riley JE, ROM) to finish and is especially proud to deliver the Silver ROM to his momma. We are very grateful to Kathy and Margaret Henning for entrusting him to us, and to the Hennings and Elaine Brown for their continuing support, patience, and mentorship. We are so proud of our Rory and anxious to see what the future holds for him.

On February 13, 2010, Conundrum Iron Lady SE NA NAJ (Maggie) finished her CH with a four point major under Mr. R.R. Hartinger, expertly handled by Holley Eldred. This also gives her the necessary points for a Versatility title from the BTCA. In between showing, Maggie has produced two beautiful litters with her puppyhood sweetheart, Miles, as well as doing agility and Earthdog--her two real loves in life. Thanks to expert grooming help from Jennifer Tollefson and Laurale Stern, and beautiful handling from Holley Eldred, she has finally reached her potential. Thanks so much to Jane Parker for allowing her to cross the pond and live with us--we wanted a boy but ended up with our sweet if crazy foundation bitch, Maggie!
